Our 2025-2028 Strategic Plan

Strengthening Our Community Together

Our strategic plan provides a road map to the year 2028 to deliver on our commitment of offering the healthiest food choices and support to those facing food insecurity and poverty in Kanata. We can only provide this support through the generosity of our volunteers, donors, partners and community.

Our Strategic Plan aims to ensure that everyone in our community has the food, wrap around support, and tools they need to thrive and live with dignity.

The Kanata Food Cupboard provides more than food assistance.

We are working to build a stronger, more connected community. That includes advocating with our partners for food security and poverty reduction initiatives and bringing together local businesses, partners and volunteers so that support is available when needed.

The Four Pillars of the 2025-2028 Strategic Plan

1

Meet growing need

We are expanding our capacity to respond to increasing demand to ensure that everyone who seeks support can access it.

  • Plan for continued growth in demand
  • Strengthen systems and operations
  • Ensure consistent, reliable access to food

2

Continue to build a volunteer community

We are building on the strength of our dedicated volunteers to continue to grow our volunteer base and include more diversity to reflect our community.

  • Recruit and retain volunteers across all backgrounds
  • Create opportunities for leadership and skill development
  • Continuing to foster a culture of volunteerism in Kanata

3

Deliver the programs our community needs

We are aligning our programs with the evolving needs of our community.

  • Regularly assess and adapt programs
  • Strengthen partnerships to expand support
  • Connect people to existing services

4

Strengthen community awareness and support

We are increasing awareness of food insecurity and building stronger community connections.

  • Raise awareness of local need
  • Reduce stigma around accessing support
  • Engage donors, partners, and the broader community

Please help us support our community's most vulnerable by donating.
