The Kanata Food Cupboard (KFC) Board of Directors comprises leaders from the nonprofit and for-profit sector who are dedicated to the organization’s mission.

Serving on the Board of Directors (Board) is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual who is passionate about helping those who are food insecure in the Kanata community.

General information and requirements

In fulfillment of fiduciary responsibilities, the volunteer Board is expected to establish policies, to make significant and strategic decisions, and to oversee the organization's activity.

The Term of Board Members is 2 years. Members attend 9-12 board meetings/year and give between 5-10 hours/mo. They are expected to read board materials in advance of meetings and come prepared to participate. Board members are also expected to engage in one or more committees, and encouraged to participate in a volunteer event each year.

The ideal candidate would have non-profit board member experience (or received formal board training) as well as a track-record of supporting charitable causes, passion for the mission, and leadership skills to help support Board discussions.
