Adopt-a-Family

Last Christmas 698 Kanata families came to the Kanata Food Cupboard for assistance for the holidays. Help us, help them.

This year the 2023 "Adopt-A-Family Program" will provide three avenues to support a local family:

1: By direct match to a family where you provide physical gifts and food.  Adopters that opt to provide physical goods will receive a match family and its information, including wish lists for all children aged 17 and younger. They can then shop for a Christmas dinner, Christmas goodies and treats, toiletry items, and/or presents for family members under the age of 18 (if applicable).

2: By direct match to a family where you provide gift cards for gifts and food.  Adopters that opt to provide gift cards to purchase food and gifts for children will receive a match family and its information, including wish lists for all children aged 17 and younger (to best identify what gift cards to include). The family will then use the gift cards provided to shop for a Christmas dinner, Christmas goodies and treats, toiletry items, and/or presents for family members under the age of 18 (if applicable).

3: By digital adoption. Adopters this year have the option of digitally adopting a family in need of assistance for Christmas, via online donation using the following link: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/pages/adopt-a-family-christmas-2023/ . The funds provided by virtual adoption will be used to purchase gift cards for items such as a Christmas dinner, Christmas goodies and treats, toiletry items, and/or presents for family members under the age of 18 (if applicable). Those gift cards will then be given to families also supported by the Kanata Food Cupboard to purchase their direct Christmas needs.

Thank you for your consideration in adopting a local family!
