Need Assistance?
If your circumstances are such that you could use our help with groceries, please contact us by phone and you may receive a package on the evening of the very day you call. Our “hampers” are packed by evening volunteers in accordance with the size of your family and any special dietary needs you have indicated. We will generally have about a week's worth of:
breakfast cereal, powdered milk, lunch snacks and drinks for children and youth, flaked meat, canned vegetables and fruit, pasta and rice, sauces and side dishes, toiletries (when available), infant and toddler food and diapers(if applicable), bread and rolls (donated by Stittsville Bakery), and an assortment of other groceries or toiletries.
Simply follow the procedures outlined below: Phone (613) 836-7847, leave a message on line 1 with the following info only: *Name, *address, *number of adults and children, * delivery requirements (if necessary) We deliver on Tuesday and Friday evenings just to those who don’t have a means of picking up their food packages. * Leave a phone number at which our volunteer may call you back to set up a pick up/delivery time. Reaching you is necessary to confirm your order and meet your needs.
Privacy Notice It is the intent of the Kanata Food Cupboard that any Personal Information collected by the Kanata Food Cupboard regarding donors or clients shall not be sold, shared, or otherwise disseminated without the express written consent of the individuals concerned.
Eligibility to receive assistance: You must be living in Kanata. Details of your situation are not mandatory. We do, however, need to know who we are helping. Your name and special requirements are placed in a confidential client care and tracking software system. The number of clients we assist is important information for ensuring foundation and government grants and community funding. You may receive food every 30 days for however long your circumstances require. Exceptions can be made for food sooner than 30 days in consultation with our Client Coordinator.
